Notifications
The core of SecureFeed’s work is focused towards managing risks and ensuring food and feed safety. Through proactive and preventive measures, the animal feed industry works to manage risks.
Nevertheless, contaminations can never be completely ruled out. If an analysis reveals that a contaminant exceeds the rejection limit set by SecureFeed, the participant is required to report this to SecureFeed.
There are different types of notifications:
Type of notification | |
---|---|
Signal | No rejection limits are exceeded, adequate control with measures at the individual company level. |
Alert | Rejection limit is exceeded, multiple companies are involved. |
Calamity | Damage is imminent to the integrity of SecureFeed, its participants, or the animal feed industry, as well as the stability of animal production chains, food and feed safety, and food and feed integrity. |
The description above is general, but each calamity is unique and will be handled individually. Therefore, the type of notification may differ from the general description on a case-by-case basis.
After a notification is reported, SecureFeed takes control and acts swiftly and effectively. SecureFeed analyzes the signal/alert/calamity, and based on that analysis, the next steps are determined. Any resulting actions are followed up, and depending on the situation, the severity of the notification may be adjusted.
For communication regarding the notification, SecureFeed uses methods including phone consultations, timelines, emails, and news updates or website posts.
