Products
Animal feed consists of many different products: grains, legumes, oils and fats, by-products from the food industry, vitamins and minerals.
Products may contain specific (combinations of) contaminants that could compromise food safety. To mitigate these risks, products used in animal feed undergo a risk assessment and are incorporated into a monitoring plan.
Would you like to check whether products are permitted in animal feed? Then use the following sources:
Catalogue of authorised feed materials (Regulation (EU) No 68/2013 (Annex PART C ‘List of feed materials’).
Use the current, consolidated version. A feed material from the catalogue may be used in (animal) feed.
Feed materials from this list may be used as long as they remain on this list. Rejected products (click on ‘view rejected notifications’) may not be used and may not be re-applied for.
EU Register of authorised feed additives
Feed additives from this list are authorised by the EU for use in animal feed. Where applicable, the register also lists conditions for use.
SecureFeed also focuses on innovative circular products. When these products are introduced into animal feed, their risks are carefully assessed, and they are added to the monitoring plan.
Together, the risk assessment and product monitoring form the foundation of the SecureFeed assurance system.
