The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) supervises many places. Due to the large number of companies supervised by the NVWA, choices have to be made as to which companies are inspected. That is why the NVWA encourages cooperation with private organisations with independent control systems, such as SecureFeed.
After participating in an extensive desk study and an on-site audit, SecureFeed has been accepted as a private control system.
Advantages for SecureFeed Participants
SecureFeed attaches great importance to this acceptance because it offers advantages for SecureFeed and its participants. In the long term, acceptance may lead to fewer (frequent) visits by the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) to your company and a greater focus on non-participants. After all, the NVWA can rely on our participants being supported in complying with the legal requirements.
The acceptance does not change the relationship between SecureFeed and its participants. Nor does it change the provisions regarding the sharing of confidential information.
In the second quarter of 2025, some participants will receive a monitoring visit from the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA). The monitoring visit is not an inspection or audit, but focuses on the work of the Certifying Body (CB) that conducts the annual audit at your company.
The participants concerned have been informed of this.
